Year 1 - Local Environments & Patterns On Earth
The Year 1 PALMS activities include extensions covering short and longer-term changes to the sky and the landscape. Students will explore the use of senses in science, make their own weather recording equipment measuring changes in rain, wind and temperature so they can produce their own weather reports and finally they will describe the difference between natural, managed and constructed features in the landscape.
The Year 1 STEM Project encourages students to explore their changing world. Students identify landscapes as natural, managed or constructed, observe the changing weather and discuss seasons, explore changes in the night sky and experiment with simple materials to create observable change. Finally, they may take on the longer project of creating a time capsule. To access the package click on the image below (no passwords required).
